Sensei Jean-Luc Martin

Jean-Luc started in Shorin-Ryu in 1979 in the company of his brother, Yvan Martin, who at the time was teaching in La Plaine, Quebec under the supervision of André Raymond. From January, 1980 until 1994, Jean-Luc studied under Roland Raymond (André’s brother) in the same style of Karate. In 1987, Jean-Luc became an instructor in Roland Raymond’s dojo. From 1994 to 2005, Jean-Luc continued training with André Raymond and opened his first dojo located in St-Antoine-des-Laurentides, Quebec in 1994. In 1999, the dojo closed to replace the Kobayashi teacher in Bois-des-Filion as well as teaching 2 classes a week in St-Canut, Quebec. The dojo in Bois-des-Filion is still going strong and a second dojo opened in St-Lin-des-Laurentides in 2013. Since 2009, the dojo has been associated with the WSKF and the style has changed from Kobayashi to Matsubayashi-Ryu.
